Leadership in an AI world is changing rapidly. Relevant knowledge, risk-based decision-making, efficient work management are all available at the end of a prompt. But there's one aspect of leadership that AI can't do.

My own story
In the first half of my adult life, story was something that only had meaning in my spare time. By day, my life was corporate strategy, major transformation, leading teams. By night, I was learning the tools and techniques of story in all its forms. When I was forced to choose between the conflicting demands on my time, I stuck with story. By then I’d understood that story could be way more influential, in life and work.

That was some 20 years ago. Since then I’ve devoted my working life to helping organisations and leaders master the art and science of narrative - from professional firms through scaling companies to multinational corporations in the UK, US and Hong Kong. When it’s working, it’s pretty much unstoppable.

Specialisms
  • Shaping complex transformation into ‘seasons’ of purposeful progress
  • Coaching leaders to better connect with people
  • The best TV drama of the last 30 years

Inspired by
“Write the truth”. The words that legendary Hollywood story doctor Robert McKee wrote when signing my copy of his seminal book, Story.

My own story
Story has always been central to what I do. I wrote my first novel at sixteen (long before I understood storytelling!) and later spent twelve years in corporate communications across London, Sydney, and Hong Kong. Those years showed me how powerfully language shapes belief, behaviour, and momentum—especially in moments of change.

Today, I run the Asia business for Write the Talk, working with leaders and organisations of all sizes and sectors to help them navigate complexity with clarity and confidence.

Alongside this, I’ve built a creative life as a writer and screen storyteller. I co-founded an Australian production company focused on telling fierce female stories, producing award-winning work that has reached audiences around the world. I have two novels coming out this year, published by independent publishers in the US and Europe.

Across everything I do, story is the through-line. It’s how change becomes human, how leadership builds trust, and how people find the confidence to speak in their own voice. And perhaps most importantly, how we find our tribe.

Specialisms
  • Helping businesses take people through change in a more meaningful way
  • Working with leaders to help them find their authentic voice and build stories that connect
  • Award-winning screenwriter

The learning process

We provide the knowledge, frameworks and practice your managers and executives need to become genuine people leaders, across 9.5 hours of lessons and exercises. They’ll work through:

Reflections
Exploring the relationships we all have with stories throughout our lives:
  • Some will have made us the person we are
  • Some will be experiences to share
  • Others will be those we’ve read or watched

Activities

Using what's being learned to understand how and why story works, and how to use it in work.

Module assessments

As well as opportunities to test themselves as they go, learners will work through multiple-choice self-assessment at the end of each module. Results are not captured, and exercise work happens off the platform so there are no confidentiality risks for individuals or the business.

Why build story skills with us?

  • We only do story in business. It's our deep specialism and no one can match our ability to shape leaders and their organisations.
  • We have brought our direct senior business experience and first-hand story expertise to companies with 50-50,000 people around the world.
  • We don't delegate live sessions to on-call consultants. You get us.
  • Our learning path is rich and clear, with specialist masterclasses, 1:1 development, and executive workshops all available to support deepening expertise and sophistication.
  • Core skills like this should have CPD accreditation and we've achieved that quality mark.
  • Partnering with LearnWorlds means we can offer the tracking and progress reporting you need.
I really appreciated how engaging each session was. You have a way of keeping the discussions meaningful while still making the concepts practical and easy to apply.

Thank you again for creating a space that challenged me to think.

I hope to keep the momentum going even in daily conversations. It’s still work in progress but I’m determined.
